SAYULITA SURFING: (Sayulita Surf Report)

Surfers were the second group of foreigners behind the missionaries to visit Sayulita in the mid 1960's where they found warm water and consistent waves all year-round. To this day, the Sayulita surfbreaks and waves have fulfilled the tropical surf dreams of beginner to advanced surfers from all over the world.

There are two surf spots in Sayulita; a right (longboard) break in front of Papa's Palapas in the main village area and a left (faster) break just north of the river mouth infront of the campground.

Surfboard Rentals and Lessons can be found on the beach infront of the surfbreak at
Papa's Palapas and on the beach with Tigre's Surf school.

Surfers may want to bring a 1-2 millimeter rashguard for the early morning breezes but a wetsuit is never needed.

From Sayulita, surfing daytrips via boat or car can be arranged to visit the neighboring breaks to the north and south of the village. (See map.)
