Shopping, with numerous shops, galleries, beach vendors, and local artisans, Sayulita offers an abundance of great shopping to locals and visitors alike. A stroll up and down the village's cobblestone streets will deliver a quaint and satisfying shopping experience for furnishings, artwork, souvenirs, gifts, etc. Beach vendors carry a wide array of silver jewelry, hats and Mexican blankets while smaller stores in Sayulita offer plenty of traditional artwork and replicas. 
Most shoppers claim a trip to Puerto Vallarta does not warrant leaving Sayulita  as the prices are roughly equivalent to Sayulita and the selection does not increase my much…except for the "One Tequila two Tequila" T-shirt.

Check the exchange rates (Link above) for daily Mexican peso exchange rate against US dollars, Canadian dollars, and the Euro. The best money exchange rates are in the Puerto Vallarta airport at the HSBC exchange.

You can use US dollars (not traveler checks) at most of the stores and restaurants in Sayulita and the surrounding area. A money exchange with varying hours is located just across the street from the plaza. Sayulita does NOT have a cash machine.

A bank (HSBC) with a cash machine (caja permanente) is located in the town of Bucerias, halfway to Puerto Vallarta. Another cash machine is located in Bucerias next to the Chinese architectural building on the ocean side of hwy MEX200.
